…that I can’t live without and soon you won’t be able to either
There are many reasons why smoothies have become so popular. They’re easy to make, great for on-the-go lifestyles, they’re universally loved for often being delicious, and they’re the perfect way to get in those necessary vitamins and nutrients without really trying. But, I want to make one thing clear: all smoothies are not created equal. With this in mind, I prefer to make my own to avoid premade sugary mixes or sweetened milks that immediately spike blood sugar. If I’m already out and about and haven’t had the time at home, I turn to Juice Press which is a reliable choice for their homemade nut milks, use of organic plant-based ingredients and no refined sugars added.
Now, I am going to tell you about my go-to recipe and why you need to try it too. First off, it tastes like a chocolate milkshake but has zero added sugar or dairy. It has close to 15g of plant-based protein without any chalky powders in the mix. I swear by (and only use) Philosophie superfood plant based protein. My favorite flavor of theirs is Cacao Magic which is high in antioxidants, magnesium and plant-based protein—a blend that consists of organic superfoods, herbs and medicinal mushrooms. The raw cacao gives it a natural chocolate flavor. I promise that you and your kids will love it just as much as I do. I also sneak in a handful or two of raw spinach for an extra boost of vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin K, folate, magnesium and iron. See the full recipe below—enjoy and tell me what you think!
